A visit to Costa Rica´s Universidad Tecnica Nacional

During the field visit to Costa Rica in November 2023, the RevalueD project team had the privilege of meeting with Dr Liliana Rodriguez, the Vicerector of Research and Transfer at the Universidad Tecnica Nacional (UTN). Dr Rodriguez played a pivotal role in facilitating our fieldwork and organizing workshops involving stakeholders from the pineapple bioeconomy sector.

Additionally, we visited the pilot project of mushroom cultivation utilizing pineapple stubble developed by UTN through Dr Liliana Rodriguez in partnership with Nicoverde company. This innovative initiative showcased the diverse uses of pineapple residues, shedding light on their potential beyond traditional applications.

Dr Rodriguez's dual role as Vicerector of Research and Transfer and her active participation in this project underscore her commitment to fostering collaboration and innovation. The ReValueD team is immensely grateful for her guidance and support and eagerly anticipates continued collaboration in the future. This partnership promises to yield valuable insights and advancements in the field of pineapple bioeconomy in Costa Rica.
