Workshop with students from the Technological University of Pereira (Colombia) (22.05.2024)

Last Wednesday 22nd of May our research group Bioeconomy Economics, had the pleasure to receive a group of bachelor students and researchers from the University of Pereira from Colombia.

During this workshop we had the opportunity to share ideas and contrast practices regarding the use of biomass in different countries. During the first part of the day the PhD students from our team, Daphne Santiago, Franziska Jäckel and Gremary Aza presented their preliminary results from the qualitative field research, each one addressing a different case study: the Philippines, Ghana, and Costa Rica, respectively.

Additionally, the students from the University of Pereira shared their research topics including: “Production of bioethanol from coffee and cacao residues” and “Water Waterfall coopetition along the coffee value chain leading to institutional chain within sustainability: the case of Colombian coffee producers”.

This was a great experience to broaden our perspective, share thoughts, and meet researchers from Latin America.
